Reflexology can have a profound affect on specific body processes so there are a few instances when you should NOT practice foot reflexology;
- on a recent or healing foot fracture or open wound on the feet/legs
- active gout
- pregnancy - avoid reflexes for bladder, uterus, sciatica, low spine, inner ear and medial knee until 39 weeks.
- varicose veins (phlebitis) - avoid pressure on veins and surrounding tissue
- blood clotting disorder (thrombosis or embolism)
- untreated heart condition - consult your doctor
- 3rd or 4th stage cancer patient - consult your oncologist to proceed
- uncontrolled blood pressure
